Abstract: An in vitro assay for Δ¹⁴-sterol reductase from yeast was developed, using ergosta-8,14-dien-3β-ol as the substrate. The kinetics and localization of the enzyme were examined. The inhibition of the enzyme by the antimycotic agent, 15-azasterol, was verified.
