Abstract: This paper reports an experimental investigation of the iso-thermal flow patterns within a Solar Expanding-Vortex Particle Receiver-Reactor, employing multi-plane Particle Image Velocimetry technique and hydrogen bubble visualisation. The main features of the vortex structure are presented and discussed.
