|Abstract:||This paper discusses the development of two new methods of qualitative research, developed particularly for use by broadcasters to study their own audiences, without the use of external researchers acting as intermediaries. A consensus group (usually carried out in a set of three) is similar to a focus group, but does not require interpretation by experts. The co-discovery conference, derived from Emery’s search conference, is an environment for sharing tacit knowledge directly between broadcasters and audiences.|
