This is the second supplement that has been prepared to assist teachers and students who are using The Law of Work as a textbook in courses during the second half of 2008. It provides a general outline of the National Employment Standards (NES), which were released by the Rudd Labor Government in June 2008. The NES have not yet been enacted in legislation. However, it is expected that they will replace the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standards (AFPCS) from the beginning of 2010. This material has therefore been prepared as a supplement to the material in Chapter 7: Work Standards.-
