Abstract: This paper compares two survey methodologies. The mechanics of running a World Wide Web survey are described and the advantages and disadvantages of this technique are compared with a mail survey. In addition, an experiment comparing a World Wide Web and a mail survey of firms working internationally in the computer software industry is reported. Implications for future survey research using the World Wide Web are elaborated.
